Château Jas de Bressy

Jas : most of you ask themselves what can mean this word !
Some of you may know this term in French if they like sailing. Indeed, this word can evoke the transverse rail of an anchor which makes a cross with the ‘’tige’’. In fact, in our case, there is no link with this sense.
Historically, a ‘’jas’’ was a small stone house where the shepherds could take shelter for the night or in case of bad weather. With the years, this one has widened, enough to let him get the name of ‘’Château’’. Nowadays, this jas house a shop where you can discover beautiful appellations such as Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Côtes-du-Rhône or Côtes-du-Rhône Villages.

To finish with the explanation of the name of this estate, the ‘’Jas’’ is simply followed by the name of the first owners of this place. When we bought it in 2003, we decided to keep it to pay homage to the past.

We will be pleased to welcome you in the heart of the Château Jas de Bressy very soon, make you taste our different cuvées and share our passion for vine and wine.
