From the heart of the Clare Valley

With a name like Sweet Dorothy there has to be a story, right? Dot Willson, was a long time Clare Valley vet, our mum, our mentor and a fitting namesake for this late picked sweet wine.

The riesling fruit is drenched by the Australian sun, helped along by being left on the vine for as long as possible. What results is that unmistakeable vine-ripened quaility - rich aromas reminiscent of orange blossom, flavours of honey and balanced by lively acidity.

And like Dot, this wine is very versatile. Don't think you need to leave Sweet Dorothy until dessert. Try it as an aperitif with pate, or serve with mild curries and even spicy Asian dishes. We still love it with fruit and cheese and not so sweet desserts.

And as we raise our glass to Dot, she still speaks to us - "be generous with your knowledge, live you life well and learn to laugh.

Consistently rated amongst the best wineries in the Clare Valley, Neagles Rock Vineyards is a boutique winery established in 1997 which incorporates 44 acres of vineyards, a 200 tonne boutique winery and a friendly cellar door showcasing our Clare Valley wines.

Undoubtedly Neagles Rock signature wine, our Riesling is characterised by lemon and lime flavours and a fresh zingy finish so typical of Clare Rieslings. Neagles Rock Grenache Shiraz, Semillon Sauvignon Blanc, Shiraz, Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon wines are full of generous fruit flavours, designed to be enjoyed with good food and good friends.

All of Neagles Rock wines are from the Clare Valley, from our own vineyards and small parcels of fruit that are hand selected to produce wines with forward fruit and balanced oak that captures the characters true to their region and variety.

Internationally respected wine writer James Halliday has rated Neagles Rock as a 5 Star Winery five years running which rates Neagles Rock as an “outstanding winery capable of producing wines of the highest calibre”. This accolade confirms our ability to consistently produce wines of the highest standard and also rates Neagles Rock among the best wine producers in the Clare Valley.
