Semi Dry White

Vintage: 2008
Variety: Gewurztraminer
Growing region: Lower Galilee, Kfar Tabor

Growing conditions and climate: The vineyard lies at the foot of Mt. Tabor in alluvium soil over chalky limestone. The region enjoys low humidity and a flow of healthy breezes between the vine rows.

Wine production process: Manual harvesting in the early morning hours and immediate delivery to the winery in small crates. The grapes were destemmed and crushed and the juice was transferred to fermentation tanks where it was slow-fermented together with quality yeast at a temperature of 10˚C. To maintain the wine’s semi-dry character, the temperature was reduced to 0˚C to halt fermentation and preserve some of the wine’s natural sweetness.

Tasting notes: Rich exotic aroma with nuances of rosewater and litchi. The wine’s delicate sweetness is well balanced by a refreshing tartness.
Best served at a temperature of 8˚ -10˚C.

Chemical composition:
Alcohol: 13%
pH: 3.45
General acidity: 5.80g/liter

Binyamina Winery is the fourth largest winery in Israel and it produces some 2.8 million bottles annually under several labels. These are delivered to specialty wine stores, marketing chains, hotels, catering companies and restaurants in Israel and abroad.

The winery currently produces wine under four main labels - The Chosen, Binyamina Reserve, Yogev and Teva, as well as special limited edition wines and liqueurs. We regard each of our wine labels as reflecting a part of an entire enterprise that strives for and ultimately achieves product perfection.
