Bourgogne Vézelay Blanc: Cépage Chardonnay

Les vignes du domaine Les Faverelles font partie du vignoble des Vins de Vézelay qui s'étend sur les communes d'Asquins, de Tharoiseau, de Saint-Père-sous-Vézelay et de Vézelay, dans l'Yonne, aux portes du Parc du Morvan.

L'histoire du vignoble vézelien remonte au Moyen-Age, quand les coteaux entourant Vézelay étaient couverts de vignes. Les Ducs de Bourgogne y avaient leur Clos, tel le Clos des Ducs devenu aujourd'hui le Clos Dû.
Les ravages du phylloxéra ont quasiment réduit à néant ce vignoble, jadis florissant, jusqu'aux années 70 où quelques passionnés ont décidé de le faire renaître.

Aujourd'hui, environ 100 hectares sont plantés en Chardonnay essentiellement, mais aussi en Pinot noir et en Melon, cépage fétiche de Vézelay.
Les vins de Vézelay sont désormais servis sur les meilleures tables sous l'appellation "Bourgogne" pour le rouge et «Bourgogne Vézelay » pour le Blanc.
