In Georgetown, enjoy a glass of wine with a cheese or dessert sampler or reserve our meeting room for a small group event. We offer complimentary tasting of our award winning wines and a wide selection of specialty merchandise. Open daily 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Our family-owned Canyon Wind Cellars is named for the taste-enhancing crisp mountain breezes that keep the unique fruit on our estate vineyard cool under the hot Colorado summer sun. Come try our award winning estate wines at one of our boutique wine tasting rooms in Georgetown and Palisade, Colorado. We look forward to sharing our passion with you.

Call it environmental, call it green, call it sustainable – but whatever you call it, call it Canyon Wind.

Vineyards and wineries are generally pretty eco-friendly places but here at Canyon Wind we go the extra mile. In the vineyards: no herbicides are used, only mowing and tilling for weed control; unless absolutely necessary, only organic pesticides are used (sulfur and stylet-oil being the main one); a computer controlled drip watering system saves water and applies it only where and when needed; a complete weather and soil moisture monitoring system optimizes vineyard needs and inputs; vine prunings and grape skins are returned to the soil; vineyard rows are mulched with organic material to reduce water demands and fluctuations; and vineyard aisles are planted with low demand Ephrim Crested Wheatgrass to stop wind erosion.

In the winery we utilize an underground barrel cellar to naturally cool and protect our ageing red wines – no energy input at all – and we use gravity flow to transfer wine down there. All of the wash and rinse water we use in crushing, pressing, fermentation and the like is gravity drained to a large lined evaporative pond so none of those waters or chemicals reach the ground water. We use only natural renewable cork for bottle closures and we recycle as much glass as possible from our bottling operations and tasting rooms, Our case goods warehouse, sitting atop the barrel cellar, utilizes a geo-exchange system to reduce final heating or cooling energy demands.

And finally, and perhaps best of all, we are an Estate winery (maybe the only one in Colorado) which means we do everything in the entire grape growing thru wine making and bottling process right here. No shipping.

Pretty neat, huh! And you thought we were just another winery.
