8-Day holiday to the Ligurian countryside

Through our enjoyable and informal courses we would like to introduce you, your friends or family to the delights of the cucina casalinga, (home cooking), the local food, oil and wine, the culture and countryside of this hidden corner of Italy.L'ARTE DI VIVERE !!!

PROGRAMME:
Day 1: Arrival at Nice airport, transfer to the Bed & Breakfast in Baiardo, Apricale or Dolceacqua. Welcome cocktail, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2:Breakfast is followed by a stroll through the village. Free lunch period, when you can enjoy a pizza or torta verde in one of the local restaurants or bars. In the afternoon your first guided wal is in the beautiful surrounding countryside. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3:Breakfast is followed by a bus excursion to the famous Hanbury gardens, beautifully situated by the sea. Free lunch period. In the afternoon the bus goes onto three medieval villages in the Nervia valley. At Dolceacqua, there is a visit to the Visionarium (a 3-D slide show of the local countryside and people). Following that at Isolabona there is a local wine and olive oil tasting in an old olive mill, accompanied by local snacks. Finally at Apricale, where you can have a stroll through the artists’ village before dinner in a typical regional restaurant. Overnight stay.

Day 4: Breakfast is followed by a guided walk, with a donkey, through the mountains around Baiardo. A delicious picnic is provided. In the afternoon the first cookery lesson will be the preparation of various types of pasta and sauces. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Breakfast is followed by the second cookery lesson: you will be preparing Sardenara (pizza) and Torta Verde. Lunch is at the B&B, enjoying the fruits of your labour. The afternoon and evening are free to relax and enjoy dinner in a restaurant of your own choice. Overnight stay.

Day 6: Breakfast is followed by a guided walk to the Monte Ceppo (or another area) to explore the local flora and fauna. A packed lunch is provided. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7: Breakfast is followed by a bus trip to the Sanremo market with the chef, to buy fresh ingredients for the afternoon cooking lesson. There will also be time to explore the weekly market. After returning to Baiardo you will use the vegetables from the market in the last cooking lesson, preparing your own final dinner. Overnight stay.

Day 8: Breakfast is followed by bus transfer to the airport. Flight home.
